I went and saw Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland last night in IMAX 3D and I honestly enjoyed it very much. The film has only been getting mediocre reviews but I suspect that that’s mainly because the story isn’t anything new to people who have seen the 1951 animated version of the film or read the books prior to seeing the film.
Every character Tim Burton created (or remade) seemed like it deserved its own separate movie. My favorites were Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum and the Cheshire Cat. If they ever make a Cheshire Cat or Tweedle-dee/Tweedle-dum combo vinyl figure, I’m snatching that up!
For somebody who really liked the original Alice In Wonderland from Disney, I’m very happy to say that this new film doesn’t disappoint. I’d purchase this one when it comes out on home video (DVD, etc.).
Oh, and if you go see it in theaters, see it in true IMAX 3D at Lincoln Square (in NYC). The other IMAX screens are a scam.
