BBC explains how they shrank a 2-year time-lapse shot into 60 seconds

Arbroath posted this amazing video from the BBC about the extensive pre-production that went into making a 2-year shot turn into a 60-second spot.

David Attenborough narrates this crazy video about a whole team having to map out a real-life nature preserve and then recreate the entire thing in a studio. Because everything had to be mapped onto a pre-existing shot from the actual place, nothing in the studio recreation could be off by more than a few millimeters.

If you want to see more beautiful shots like this, tune in to the 11-part series Life on TV now.
