Quirk Books just sent over a copy of the Walls Notebook by Sherwood Forlee and it’s a beautiful collection of images of blank and empty spaces in New York City.
The purpose of the book (as I’ve mentioned previously) is to allow one to doodle, tag, and do graffiti on walls without the risk of jail time. A novel idea no doubt that would be good for anybody wanting some practice in private before going out and doing some damage. But if you aren’t into that, the book also serves as a beautiful photo book of abstract shapes in New York City.
Sherwood Forlee has certainly put a great collection of walls together and my only hope is that he’s hard at work on making a 2nd book with newer surfaces to mess with. Pick up a copy of the Walls Notebook at Amazon for $10.50 now.
