Review: New York City in 3D by Greg Dinkins

Voyageur Press has a whole series of 3D books in their collection and I recently got a chance to check out one that hits a bit closed to home: New York City in 3D: A Look Back in Time.

The soft-to-the-touch hardcover book shows amazing photos of New York City’s history back when skyscrapers were just being built and when most of the city was still being powered by horse and carriage. The greatest part of this book is no doubt the included stereoscope viewer (attached to the front cover) that allows the reader to see these scenes in amazing 3D. One look through these glasses and the double image on the facing page becomes one glorious and fun 3D scene.

It’s a short book at best but definitely one of my favorite New York City books so far. And at only $14, New York City in 3D: A Look Back in Time is a great gift for yourself or somebody you know with a heart for NYC.
