Consumer Reports does not recommend purchasing the iPhone 4

Man, this is some damning evidence. Consumer Reports, a publication that many Americans undoubtedly trust for their opinions on a wide variety of products, has concluded an independent study of the iPhone 4 and is saying that the iPhone 4 is not recommended for purchase.

The report (with video) describes Consumer Reports’ controlled lab tests and how they do not believe AT&T’s wireless service is to blame for the iPhone 4′s reception issues when holding it at a certain position. In addition, the report blasts Apple for basically misleading people into thinking that the fix is software related.

Eeks, this can’t bode well for Apple at all.
