A couple of weeks ago, I was sent one of Master Lock’s brand new 1500iD Speed Dial Combination Locks to play around with. If you haven’t heard about this thing yet, it’s basically your standard Master Lock combination lock except that it has a directional pad instead of a traditional number dial.
Right off the bat you can see that it’s about the same size as a regular combination lock. That means you can use this lock anywhere you can already use Master Lock combination locks. The Speed Dial directional pad really comes in handy when you want to open it up quickly. The combination can be set to an infinite length and using it is as simple as pressing down on the shackle (to reset it) and then dialing in your combination. It really couldn’t be any easier.
Resetting the lock to your own combination is also a cinch. You simply open the lock, then flip the switch at the back and dial in your new combination and close the lock again. The lock can only be reset if its already been opened (and don’t worry about accidentally resetting it — the switch at the box is inset and requires a thin device to flip).
Overall, this is an excellent choice for a lock for school, work, or gym and I definitely would recommend it just as much as any other lock from Master Lock. If you’re in the market to buy one, Amazon.com now has the Master Lock 1500iD Speed Dial Combination Lock for just over $9 in black, red, and blue.
Check out the video below for a quick demonstration of how it works.
up up down down left right left right… open. People are going to lose a lot of things because they think they’re being clever.
I just set it to this as a test.
dudeee gotta come over to get thisss
konami code ftw!
what do you think about using it on a garage door? will the movement of directional pad hold up against rust/other environmental factors?
