Reports are out now that Bosnian police have identified the girl seen in a video throwing puppies into a river. The parents of the girl are being questioned (and presumably, so is the girl) and the girl and her family could be charged about $6400 USD for animal cruelty. That seems like a small fine given her crime…
My understanding, and please correct me if I was misinformed, is that she was killing puppies because wild dogs in her area attack livestock regularly and even kill livestock which is her families livelihood.
Animals are inferior to people and we shouldn’t be burdened by them unless we care to shoulder the burden. This may have not been the most humane way to kill animals that would have either starved or attacked livestock or even people and then been shot, but it’s better than starving and bleeding to death after being shot.
The fine; if she did live in a rural area and relied on livestock, is fucking ridiculous.
i dont care what her or her family excuse is. there was no reason for what that moranic idiot stupid careless bitch did to those poor helpless puppies. i hope her and her parents rot in hell or at least go to jail and get the fuck beaten out of them till they are motionless. i hate people who abuse animals and i hope they all pay for what they did.

the CIA world factbook puts the bosnian per capita GDP at around $6,400. by comparison, the USA’s is around $46,000 (hence the figure seeming low). in those terms, $6,400 could be a fairly spicy fine.

Armory — I agree fundamentally with what you’re saying — but I think that the real problem lies with the fact that she taped it, or I guess, that someone else taped it as well as the means of disposal. Both the people involved – her and the video-taper, are sick to film the disposal (let’s give it the benefit of the doubt and say that she was disposing of them like your post explains) of puppies even when those puppies could pose a threat once their adults.

Well, some other good news, 5 of the 6 puppies are rescued and up for adoption.

ever considered that the situation is not everywhere like it is in your huffy-puffy american comfort world? in some region (for exmaple in bosnia) it is not possible for people to raise 10 dogs, feed them and take care of them. especially not when they are ill.
and this is what they do to puppies, try to live with it, hope you can sleep at night in your cosy home.
I can now sleep in wondrous comfort knowing that this is completely normal.
and no one bats an eye when cows, pigs, etc. are basically tortured, pumped full of shit called “feed” and then pumped full of drugs to keep them alive and then fed into the grinder by the millions. and everyone is aghast about a few puppies.

But i do agree with Ron though. Im a vegetarian and i saw inside scoops at what happens at 97 percent of farms and the chickens, pigs, cows, and other livestock are treated even worse than the puppies.
