Newton Creek is now NYC's 2nd Superfund site

Oh, here’s some news for ya! Hot on the heels of that video of the Gowanus Canal being flooded with raw sewage comes word that Newton Creek (the other famous and highly polluted waterway in NYC) has just been added to the national list of Superfund sites. As you may already know, the Superfund is the nation’s program designated to cleaning up hazardous and polluted areas across the US. Only the worst of the worst get added to this list and having 2 sites on there surely isn’t a bragging item for the state of NY.
