Designing the LCD dashboard on new Ford vehicles

Smart Design: Reducing Glance Time on the Ford SmartGauge from Smart Design on Vimeo.

Smart Design uploaded this video that talks about how they helped Ford design the SmartGauge LCD instrumental panel with EcoGuide on some new Ford vehicles (most notably, the 2010 Ford Fusion). Smart Design designed the LCD panel to be readable through peripheral vision rather than direct interaction by using certain color schemes and layout. This allows drivers to keep their eyes on the road while still being able to “read” information off of the dashboard.
