This thing really sucks! And that’s a good thing! The Dyson DC26 Multi floor vacuum is one of the newer offerings from Dyson that’s made specifically for smaller apartments and tight spaces. The DC26 is Dyson’s smallest vacuum cleaner to date but don’t let the small size confuse you — this machine has the same sucking and cleaning power as any full-size Dyson and the only difference really is that it just holds less dirt.
Everything about this vacuum cleaner’s design takes into account the small spaces it might be used in. The auto-retractable cord is a helpful addition to the unit and the upright handle holder for the vacuum tube helps the vacuum cleaner take up as little space as possible when stored away — it won’t be seen unless you want it to be seen!
The handle of the DC26 City Vacuum is extendable for people of all heights and allows me to comfortably clean without having to hunch over or over-extend my arms. The vacuum cleaner comes with an iconic Dyson ball-head carpet cleaner (super-maneuverability!!), a hard-floor head, and 2 additional accessories for extra-tight spaces and stairs. And while you’re cleaning, the unit rolls easily along because of its 3-point wheelbase. Emptying the clear bin is as easy as pushing a button and the wonderful thing about this Dyson (or rather, all Dysons) is that there’s no bags or filters to buy to keep the unit working. If you feel like it needs a cleaning, just use some light water and you’re done!
In my NYC apartment space, the Dyson DC26 City Vacuum was definitely a welcome addition to my cleaning arsenal. If you want a small vacuum cleaner that doesn’t skimp out on power, the DC26 is going to be your best friend. The up front cost of $400 is steep, but when you factory in Dyson’s 5-year warranty with no extra maintenance costs, I honestly think this is a great deal.
