It’s been a while since I’ve really seen a Disney hit. As of late, Disney films, with the exception of Pixar productions, have been pretty lackluster. Sure, they make tons of money still, but I just haven’t gotten too great of a feeling after watching them recently. Tangled is different. It’s the classic story of Rapunzel without all of the dark Grimm Brothers mystery involved. The animation is superb — as it should be considering the fact that it is the most expensive animated film ever made — and the songs are good enough to make me think that they would make it onto a sing-along Disney VHS tape or DVD. I suppose as I get older the draw of children’s movies gets lost along the way, but somehow Tangled keeps me interested throughout the entire film. Check it out in 3D at your local theater.
