No, this isn’t an Onion joke. On May 3rd, Starbucks plans to launch a new 31-ounce “Trenta” beverage cup in all of its US stores to ensure that by the time you reach your last drop of coffee, it’ll be absolutely cold and gross.
The new Trenta size will be 50 cents more than the Venti size which is currently the largest cup you can get at the coffee chain.

What about the new logo?!?!
Considering the new size is only for iced coffee, iced tea, and iced tea lemonade drinks, then the cold factor shouldn’t be an issue. Their coffee on the other hand…that’s another story. When I do stop in there (main place I catch up with friends every so often), I grab an iced coffee but the venti is plenty enough and usually full of sugar-free sweetener to make it drinkable.
A Starbucks employee friend of mine clarified that the trenta size is only available for iced coffee/tea. They have strict instructions to refuse customers who order a trenta latte/cappuccino. Still. A 31-oz iced coffee? I wouldn’t sleep for daaaaaays.
