Cars were allowed only for some high class people and most people wanted to have bicycles like Teenagers want to have cars when they finish SAT and get ready for college here. Major Korean car manufactures like Kia and Hyundai became mainstream car manufactures in 80s. Before then, most car companies were designated and operated by the Government.
