The Glidecam HD-1000 and HD-2000 are still great units in my opinion, but their size just can’t compete with the Steadicam Merlin. Plus, the Steadicam name comes from this original company (now owned by Tiffen) so there’s no reason why this wouldn’t be great. The only thing is that it carries with it a mighty pricetag of $800+.
Anybody want to jump in and split the cost of one to use?
PS: I love how the Merlin folds down like this.
