Solid State Drive boot test on the MacBook Pro

Why is it taking so long for SSD technology to go down in price? I need this kind of speed in my laptop already! And the suckiest part is that I really don’t think there’s going to be an option for SSD’s in the next refresh of the MacBook Pro. :(

Here’s one more comparing 3 older MBP models to the current top of the line MBP.

    Don’t worry, there will absolutely be an option for SSDs in the new MBPs. Apple has a deal with Sandisk (who makes the memory modules for the Mac Book Airs) and gets custom SSDs cheap so they can charge you above market price for built-in modules. There will be SSD upgrades available from the factory.
