AT&T to buy T-Mobile in $39 billion deal

So I take an online break for a few days this weekend and what do I miss? Oh, not much, just the fact that AT&T may purchase T-Mobile for a whopping $39 billion pending government approval. This would essentially make AT&T the best network carrier in the US. I’m all for it. Big monopolies!

One Response to AT&T to buy T-Mobile in $39 billion deal

The reason this is terrible news for everyone is that it leaves 3 main cellular providers in the US (in order of size): AT&T, Verizon, & Sprint (Creedo Mobile doesn’t count). AND it means that AT&T would be the only GSM provider. This puts consumers under more threat for price-fixing in the cell industry than ever before. Get your lifetime contracts now.
