A couple of weeks ago, Simon told me to download this iPad/iPhone app called Tour Wrist. The app uses the gyroscope in the iPad 2 and iPhone to give you an extremely immersive experience viewing a number of different locations around the world. It’s hard to explain and it’s even harder to do a live demo video of it without some sort of camera head rig so the best I can do now is direct you to the video below and to tell you that the FREE APP is definitely worth downloading and trying.
I almost want to say that it’s one of the best demonstrations of what the iPhone/iPad is capable of in terms of app-experiences. It’s certainly up there on my list of apps to try out for new iOS users.
It’s available FOR FREE for the iPhone and the iPad.
Microsoft just recently released an app for the iPhone that uses the same technology. It’s called Photosynth and I know Microsoft had the technology developed for a while, but it just came to the iPhone.
