Forgotten Yugoslavian monuments by Jan Kempenaers

The layout of the following blog is so broken that I have trouble believing that this was originally researched, but the photos are so cool that I can’t help but spread the love anyway. Over at Cracktwo is a post about some pretty whacky architecture commissioned by former Yugoslavian president Josip Broz Tito. They were built around the 60′s and 70′s and meant to commemorate important WWII battle sites. [via]

Most of these architectural remnants have long been forgotten and abandoned but a photographer named Jan Kempenaers took photos of the remaining ones and put them together in a book which you can view in its entirety below. WONDERFUL! :)
