The Splinter: a 100% wooden bicycle

Michael Thompson and James Tully are the duo behind this amazing engineering marvel that is a 100% wooden bicycle. The pair have completed the entire build and now they want to try and see if they can set a world record for the fastest land speed record on a wooden bicycle (for which I’m sure there is no current record holder so anything above walking speed will land them in the books).

I really wonder what those wooden wheels feel like. Horse carriage ride?

I read that they hadn’t tested it yet because no surface exists that is flat and smooth enough on which to ride this bad-boy.
