This is a very interesting concept bike called The Twin Fixed from Swiss (or German?) bicycle maker Bedovelo. It incorporates a heavy-duty belt-drive system that is capable of switching from one gear to the next with a simple inward push of the crank. This kind of bike would have come in handy this weekend when I was climbing those hills.

I don’t understand how this changes the gear ratio. Can anyone enlighten me?
It’s a two-speed gear in a bottom bracket, like this Schlumpf unit: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/schlumpf.html
