New concrete can soak up 1500 gallons of water

Ok, that headline may be a bit misleading. The concrete isn’t exactly soaking the water up. It’s just made in a way that allows water to flow right through it and back to the ground. I’m not sure what this means in the long run (lots of sink holes?) but this is just a fantastic video to watch even if it’s of basically nothing at all.

It is also great for storm water. In many older US cities, the sewers and the storm runoff drains are tied together. If a storm is heavy enough, the sewers can back up into local streams and rivers as well as basements. This concrete would lessen the amount of water going into the sewers and allow it to drain into the ground.
