Every year on August 24th, I make a post about Hurricane Andrew hitting South Florida. I was very young at the time but the event still had its effects on me. I remember seeing damaged houses, I remember standing in long lines to get food and water and other supplies from the National Guard, and I remember bathing in candlelight at a family friend’s home while the storm hit our actual home.

I’ve been meaning to scan the images we have of our house after the storm swept through but I haven’t yet. I hope to get to it at some point because they’re definitely something to remember and check out.
