I kid you not, this is absolutely real. Disney and Pixar are making a direct-to-DVD Cars-inspired film called Planes about planes. The film which has a Spring 2013 release date looks pretty rad from the teaser above but it’s almost guaranteed to be a weak story due to the nature of it going straight to DVD. If the studio believed this was a winner they would release it in theaters.

Really? White Zombie?
Up closed out Pixar’s golden age. If anywhere, the waning of Steve Job’s voice would be at his position at Disney. Job’s first act at Disney was to push them to stop diluting their brand with straight to DVD garbage. Now, it seems Disney is pushing Pixar to scale up production at the cost of quality. A contagious lack of ideas.
Really? A sequel to Monsters Inc.?
Seriously? Up was… mediocre. Then Toy Story 3 was *amazing*. If any film were to close out Pixar’s Golden Age it would be TS3.
And frankly, with John Lasseter involved other Disney projects now, the quality of Pixar movies may be declining but the quality of Disney’s other movies are vastly improving (Tangled, anyone?).
