Kind of timely what with the whole 99%/OWS movement. But what’s interesting is that this was Nolan’s Batman story from the beginning. Taking back society from the villains. First, the street criminals, then organized crime with corporate corruption, and now Gotham is lead by a leader who wants to take it one step further, claiming (similarly to Ra’s al Ghul and the Joker) that society must take back control, itself, sacrificing progress for equality. Batman will have to balance his power and desire to rid Gotham of violence and evil while pleasing the masses who want nothing more than equal opportunity which has been stripped from them by the Gotham elite.
