I just got back from a trip to Cleveland, OH and while I was there I was able to venture into this dandy little place called The Big Fun Toy Store. This place is a mecca for anybody who has ever collected, enjoyed, played with, and owned a toy in the last 100 years (or more). This place is where you’ll want to go if you want to play with and experience a bit of childhood again. There was box after box, and shelf after shelf of goodies, toys, and games to play with. Everything you see in the store is on sale, and most of the stuff is not junk at all. Old, yes, but definitely not worthless.
The store is set up somewhat like a maze of treasures where every turn of your head brings delight and wonder from deep in the recesses of your mind. There were toys here that I hadn’t seen in probably 20 years and then there were toys that I thought nobody except me found value in — but there it was, on the shelf, ready to be sold!
I have never in my life been to a better toy store. There’s just so much stuff to see here. What’s more is that there are two stores just like this in Cleveland, each filled with its own set of treasures. It’s astonishing to me that this place isn’t more famous and it really, really sucks that something like this of this size and scope doesn’t exist in NYC. It would be killer if it did!
I’ve attached some images inside if you care to take a quick photo tour.
