For the past couple of weeks I’ve been testing out this app called PressReader for iOS. The free app allows you to read up to 2100+ different newspapers from all over the world at the click of a button. For $29.95/month, you get access to every single newspaper in the database with daily updates pushed to you. If you want a slightly more manageable arsenal at your fingertips, you can pay for each issue for just $.99.
The app is wonderful to use. Downloads are super-easy to initiate and once complete you can set new issues of that same newspaper to be delivered every day without you haveing to do anything. Think of it as the digital version of a newspaper delivery.
I particularly liked SmartFlow, the article-specific viewer that allows you to scroll through an article much like a traditional e-book reader instead of having to view an entire page (although if you like viewing the newspaper in a more traditional way, you can always use Page View to see all the contents in one view). And most importantly, sharing is convenient and easy to do right from the end of each article. Print, copy, save to Evernote…all your options are right there at your fingertips.
If you want to give it a try, I highly suggest going to the iTunes Store and downloading a copy of PressReader. In a time when I hardly ever pick up a physical newspaper anymore, this app has got me going back to turning pages in more than just one.
