
Anandtech’s in-depth write-ups are always welcome, this one in particular especially. In their latest post, Anandtech analyzes the new Retina Display on the MacBook Pro and finds that it really is a magnificent screen. And because of its construction and layering, it’s actually less reflective than previous generations’ glossy screens despite not going fully matte.
What’s most interesting is the resolution slider (see below). It looks like Apple has essentially done away with actual resolution numbers and instead has opted for a visual reference on how you want the resolution of your Retina Display to be displayed. I’ll have to play around with this…








This is not a MacBook Pro; this is a MacBook Air Plus… No ethernet, no optical drive, no user-upgradeable memory, somehow reduced (!) battery life…
Nice would be a real MacBook Pro, in it’s current unibody case, with Retina display, with the additional connectors (and of course USB3) and still the possibility to use a traditional harddisk. Hey, my photo library alone tops 256 GB, and I’m currently using a 1 TB harddisk.
I cannot see any defensible points for a price point of $2200 MBP.
