Today marks a significant change in my life, picking up from NYC, the place where I grew up, and planting myself in the heart of Los Angeles. Two completely different cities but each exciting in its own way. It’s just hitting me now that I’ll probably not be coming back to NYC to live (at least for some time) and to be honest, it’s making me a bit sad. The last couple of hours have been filled with a rollercoaster of emotions (yes, I just used that) and my body feels torn between the sorrow of leaving New York and the excitement of LA ahead. So brace yourselves folks! If you’re a regular reader of this site, you’re going to be taking this ride with me! The forecast looks sunny from here!!
PS: How probable is an LA reader meetup? Just wondering…

That must be some change. Given how differnt England is from the top to the bottom (only 500m) I cannt imagine how much change 3500m will be!

enjoy california! although more typical move for a new yorker would be to sf, where it’s not as harsh a transition. freeways, cars, crap pizza : here we come!

You’re coming to LA at a great time to explore the city and what it has to offer. I saw the bike packing post, you should try out a Santa Monica critical mass and exposition parks street food cinemas!

Hello from Seoul, South Korea! I’ve been visiting DB since 2006 and this is my first comment! I’m a hugh fan of your postings including photos, writings, and many other stuff. Actually I saw you in person near Reed Space when I was living in NYC. You were probably riding your silver fixed gear bike I guess.
As I am a big fan of fixed gear bike too (if you know SURFACE crew), I really wanted to say hello to you at that time but missed it. 
Anyway, DB was one of my few windows to hear some news from NYC and I really loved it. Please keep up the good work and hope you get to LA safe. Thank you and good luck!
