Let’s all remember how utterly jaw-dropping the 2008 Beijing Opening Ceremony was, and how boring this year’s was (with the exception of Mr. Bean).

I guess it would take an American to miss the subtleties of a quirky and original Olympic opening ceremony, like London’s last night. It’s not all about size and how regulated and regimented you are as a country. Whilst Beijing was impressive, it lacked heart and flair, it felt to me like they were just flexing their muscles as a super power. I imagine if one of those drummers was off beat he would have been killed. Plus I don’t remember many women taking part.
You have reminded me that Doobybrain is just one man and that all the posts are just an opinion, an opinion that has dropped in my estimations.
Sorry you thought it was dull.
I apologize for my comment.
I didn’t mean to cause any insult, it was a heat of the moment thing.
It was an odd ceremony, but I am glad you liked Mr. Bean.
Keep up the good Dooby work.
No worries, I wasn’t offended.
I figured people wouldn’t agree with me anyway. I always welcome comments differing from mine. It’s what makes this site interesting for me.
Boring? Having Tubalar Bells live means that nothing could be boring
The only part I didn’t really like was the Bean part!
The frist part was a bit muddled, but it got its act together.
However, the Bond part was unforgivable; well, about as unforgiveable as casting Craig as Bond.

It was worth it for the German giving what appeared to be a nazi salute to the German team and Boris and Camilla laughing at him. Now that was priceless…
