Reyhan Harmanci over at BuzzFeed has written an eye-opening article about the select individuals Google hires as contract freelancers to weed out the despicable, gruesome, and highly inappropriate parts of the internet. The interview with one such Google hire states that he’s developed dark psychological problems due to the nature of his work — that is, investigating and often looking at child pornography, videos of death and gore, and odd fetishes. What’s shocking too is that despite these issues with the work, Google refuses to hire these people as full-time employees to give them benefits and help them deal with the psychological problems associated with the job.
