One of the best shorts I’ve seen lately premiered at the beginning of Wreck-It Ralph. The short called Paperman is made by Disney and is about a simple story of a missed connection that turns into a charming search for love between the two characters.

The film is animated almost entirely in a vintage black and white and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Apparently, Disney developed a unique way to weave 3D CG animation of the characters with traditional drawing techniques of the scene without the viewer noticing any switch between the two (or at least I couldn’t).

Here are a few clips from Disney about how the film was made.
