This is nothing short of amazing. Niko Skourtis, Jesse Reed, and Hamish Smyth found the original New York City Transit Authority Graphics Standards Manual made by Massimo Vignelli of Unimark International and took big, lovely photos of it so we can all enjoy.

I recently saw the documentary “Helvetica”, which talks about Helvetica being the typeface used by the New York Transit Authority (I just learned this is only part of the story).
