Photo: AP Just weeks after Meow the 40-pound cat was featured on Anderson Cooper, the Humane Society has euthanized the overweight cat due to complications in breathing and other health problems brought on by his weight gain. Sad. :(
Floating translucent blob in the ocean is actually a sea creature
According to BoingBoing, the odd looking sea creature swimming (or floating?) along in this video is called a Deepstaria enigmatica, a cnidarian. Weird words for a weird looking creature.

Live octopus at Sik Gaek
