A group of conservationists in Earth First! Humboldt are working to save the lives of thousands of Redwood trees in danger of being clearcut. How are they doing this? By scaling these giants and camping in the canopies of the trees.

This documentary from Rainhouse Cinema follows a few of these tree dwellers to tell their story. They have been living in some of these trees for about 3 years.

Big changes coming to Flickr today with the introduction of 1TB of free storage for ALL USERS and a brand-new super-big image browsing format. Nice overall, but is it enough to draw users back? I’m not speaking for everyone here, but in my own circle of friends, I feel like we’ve all moved to Facebook photo-sharing (unlimited storage, hi-res photo uploads, better connection to social contacts).

Photographer Dietmar Eckell has an Indiegogo project to self-publish a book of 53 images of plane wrecks where everyone on board was saved but the plane was left to be consumed by nature. A beautiful subject that we normally don’t get to see once we hear that everybody has made it out alive.

Check out some images below from the series.

Go to the across the grass and follow the Louvre wall almost to the far end of the louvre. Look for the arched doorway with the lioness statues flanking it.
