This is the design that BBDK created for an independent beverage company that makes 100% natural carbonated juices. They re-branded the beverage as ‘100%’ and printed the numbers very large on the bottles label. Very nice!

Kevin Bauman has a wonderful set of photos showing 100 abandoned houses in Detroit. [via]

Detroit has been the poster-city for rapid urban decay lately and every time I read a new story about its deteriorating state, I get the urge to book a plane ticket and see the city for myself. Kevin writes that there are about 12,000 abandoned homes in Detroit which leaves a lot to be photographed and exploreed. I think I’d be up for the challenge and adventure.

A century since the introduction of the Ford Model T

September 29, 2008 @ 2:32 am

Ford Model T, 1908

This week marks the 100th anniversary of the first production Ford Model T that is often attributed to “putting America on wheels”. The first Ford Model T rolled out of the factory on September 27, 1908 and was considered at the time to be the first affordable mass production vehicle for the everyday family. Ford used interchangeable parts and moving assembly lines to bring the cost of the Model T down to a reasonable price.

The Ford Motor Company revolutionized American life by producing the Model T, allowing families the luxury of living farther from work and essentially giving good reason to pave new roads all over the United States. Today, Ford is the 3rd largest automobile maker in the United States and the 4th largest in the world.
