This is interesting. Slate V remembers the 40th anniversary of the Moon landing by recreating what the event might have looked like on television if it had happened today. Notice how the actual event is smaller than the shots of the crowds and reporters — that’s a perfect example of how the news doesn’t show the news these days.
Eric Carle talks about making The Very Hungry Caterpillar

As you might already know from Google’s logo today, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. To properly ring in the momentous occasion, Eric Carle sat down briefly to talk about how he came up with the idea and how he went about creating the artwork for it.
For those who love the book like I do, this is a totally awesome video that shows how the caterpillar and its environment are constructed.
