Wow, look how dingy and dark and graffiti-filled the NYC Subways were back in the 80’s before the crackdown on graffiti in the system. Amazing. I kind of wish I could go back in time and experience this for myself.
Thanks Alan!

Five years ago, I thought it would be a good investment to buy my very first domain name and finally host my website at a static URL.
I’ve just renewed the domain for another 5 years in hopes that I’ll continue to write in it every day until the year 2014. Let’s see what happens!

I don’t know what else to say. I mean, do they really have to put the intervals of 5 in there?
And guess where I saw this. New School.

It’s hard to believe that I’ve been a fan of Mae for as long as they’ve been a band! I remember coming across their music on mp3.com and dmusic.com and instantly becoming a fan of their first single “Embers and Envelopes”. The band recounts a similar story of putting their music on mp3.com in a video that is posted on their website at the moment.
To celebrate the band’s 5-year anniversary (they’ve been around for about 6 years though), whatismae.com has 4 videos up that talk about how they formed, what it was like to play their first show, and how they’ve gone on to make music since then. It’s a pretty neat thing to watch as the band members reach into their minds to pull back memories from early in their formation.
In addition, the band is also selling a special anniversary edition DVD that includes never before seen footage of the band on tour and recording, song commentary, interviews, and much more. Check out the promo video below.

And recently, the band released a new version of “Embers and Envelopes” that is just totally awesome.

Threadless is having an early holiday sale with a huge selection of tees at $5.
They’ve also got T-shirts on sale for $10 and $15. The pricing seems a bit random as the $15 tees aren’t necessarily better than the $5.
Anyway, get your shop on.
