Reading a review of the Canon EOS 5D Mark II is boring. Watching a video is more fun!

Raw videos released from Canon 5D Mark II

September 27, 2008 @ 12:50 am

Vincent Laforet has released the raw video files that he used to make his short film Reverie. He released them to quiet the skeptics who didn’t believe that his film was made on the Canon 5D Mark II.

You can download the three raw video files at this Canon website. This is beyond awesome. I don’t even know how to describe the quality of the HD video from this camera.

Reverie: An entire short film shot using the Canon 5D Mark II

September 25, 2008 @ 9:11 pm

Vincent Laforet released the short film he shot using the Canon 5D Mark II this past Monday and already he is getting a lot of skepticism about whether or not the entire thing was shot with the 5D. This skepticism is just a testament as to how incredible the video quality is from this dSLR. It truly is HD-quality in every sense of the word and people just can’t seem to believe it!

If you haven’t already, head on over to the Canon website to watch Reverie. When you’re done watching that, be sure to watch the behind-the-scenes video that Vincent Laforet put together using several a Canon camcorder and the 5D Mark II (the video is embedded below).

By the way, the image above is a screenshot of a compressed video coming out of the 5D Mark II. Impressive!
