Stress-testing the braking system on a Boeing 747
Continuing where I had left off with brake testing on airplanes, WIRED posted this video of a Boeing 747 brake stress test that involved slamming on the brakes at over 200mph with a full load on board.
The landing gear of a 747
This is pretty neat. It’s a video of the landing gear system on a 747 jet. I had no idea that the front landing gear comes out way ahead of the rear landing gear upon touchdown.[via]
