Hot off the press, here’s the new music video for the hit single “Empire State of Mind” off of Jay-Z’s album The Blueprint 3.
I can still remember the first time I heard this song after Jay’s album leaked, and how it made me feel so good to be walking around in the city. Still does, in fact. I don’t know if I’ll ever get sick of this song.

If you watched Sunday’s VMAs, you might have noticed that Lil Mama managed to get herself up on stage during Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ performance of “Empire State of Mind”. I was so confused when I saw it because I couldn’t really tell right away if it was planned or if Lil Mama was hijacking the stage, but in this MTV interview, Lil Mama admits that the stunt was not planned and that Jay-Z “wasn’t feeling it”.
