Kudos to Complex for publishing this article of 10 graffiti artists who could have saved Chris Brown’s Graffiti album cover.
I’m not much of a graffiti artist myself, but shoot, I probably could have done a better job. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Check out his hideous album cover here. Maybe it’s a good thing it’s so ugly. I’m hoping everybody judges it by its cover and leaves it on the shelf. THIS IS THE MAN WHO BEAT RIHANNA.

Please stop what you’re doing right now and take some time out to look at the work of photographer Tadd Myers who photographed people in America making goods with their hands.
In this day and age where many goods and services are being outsourced to other countries, to find and see American artisans in their natural element is incredibly powerful and moving. There’s a sense of profound quality in hand-made goods in the USA that just don’t seem to emanate from products imported from overseas and Tadd Myers does an excellent job of capturing the increasingly rare occurrence of such an artist within the US.
Make sure you download the PDF of the photos here (PDF).

The end of the year is coming up and websites all over are publishing their “best of 2008″ lists, and Last.fm has a pretty one going on their website. Their best of 2008 list is broken down into artists, albums, and tracks, and then they tally up all of the scrobbles that users have logged in over the past year to create this list.
If there’s a website that can get this right, it’s definitely Last.fm. Head on over there to see who topped the charts this past year.

ReadyMade asked 5 artists to reinterpret the poster art from the first Great Depression as if they were made today. [via]
Artist Nick Dewar made the poster above showing a portion of a bicycle and said that he “can’t think of a single step that would change the nature of our society more than everyone abandoning their automobiles and cycling instead”. Well said and I couldn’t agree more.
Check out ReadyMade for the other 4 posters.
