It was a year and not so long ago that my friend Ben Mulherin announced that he was diagnosed with a cancerous lump on his leg. We had no idea at the time that he would be taken from us only 6 months later. RIP Ben! We know where you are now! :)

Someone on Ben’s cancer blog posted the image of his certificate of graduation which he would have received today if he were still here with us. Man, sometimes it’s still hard to believe that he has physically left this world and that I won’t ever be able to see him again.

I only knew Ben for a short time during my stay in Melbourne, but his personality certainly made it feel like I knew him for a lifetime. He was one of those guys who was funny, blunt, and quick-to-the-point with everything and that’s what I loved about him. I fondly remember him inviting me out to small group at his place on the very first Sunday that I was in Melbourne and how from that instant I knew that he was a good guy at heart. Some of my most cherished times in Melbourne happened while I was with Ben and for that I am extremely grateful to him and to God for putting him in my life.
Ben, you are truly missed. See you again someday!
