The Frame is a photo blog by the multimedia staff at The Sacramento Bee. It features very large pictures of news and media stories from all around the world and is similar to the format of The Big Picture and The Wall Street Journal Photo Journal.

I’m loving the larger picture format that some editors are embracing. I understand that at one point, space on print media (newspaper and magazines) was limited so the need for small images was required, but now that media is making its way onto the web full-time, the time for images small images is a thing of the past. The internet is virtually unlimited in space and the rise in news blogs that show larger images is a wonderful thing! Hopefully more newspapers follow in these blogs’ footsteps.

The tall image above of Burj Dubai, the structure that will ultimately become the world’s largest skyscraper, is one of many awe-inspiring photos chosen by the editor of The Big Picture blog. The UAE never ceases to amaze me in its abundance of construction sites. That seriously is the new place to be.

I think the truck above would say such a thing if it could talk.
