Robert Moses’ plan to connect The Bronx, Queens, and Long Island. It would have ended up like the Tacoma-Narrows Bridge (which collapsed) without constant renovations and upgrades.

This video made by photographer Stephen Mallon (of trains being dumped into the Atlantic fame) shows a time-lapse of the delivery of the Willis Avenue Bridge on July 26, 2010. It looks like Stephen was allowed to place cameras atop of the bridge section during transport on the Hudson River (that’s kinda cool!).
