Sacha Baron Cohen on David Letterman

July 8, 2009 @ 9:01 pm

In a rare talk show appearance as himself, Sacha Baron Cohen talked about what it took to get an interview with an actual terrorist for a segment in the movie, Bruno. The story — if true — is pretty outrageous and funny.

Movie Review: Bruno

bruno

I had the privilege of watching a near-completion version of Bruno this afternoon and I can tell you that this movie is going to be just as controversial and funny as Borat (despite having absolutely nothing to do with Borat except for Sacha Baron Cohen). The film is an obvious poke at the absurdity of both the gay and the straight communities in the US, so no side is left unscathed from the experience.

If you don’t want to see man parts, lady parts, and extremely awkward situations, then do yourself a favor and stay away. Otherwise, go ahead and see this when it comes out July 10 because you’ll laugh for a good hour and a half!

Bruno movie trailer released

April 2, 2009 @ 4:58 pm

I’m a big fan of Sacha Baron Cohen’s comedy work (including his 2006 film Borat) and I simply cannot wait for his new film Bruno to come out later this year. First Showing just posted the trailer for the film and I’ve embedded it above for you all to enjoy (or not).

For those who don’t know, Bruno is the fictional gay Austrian television host played by Sacha Baron Cohen who first appeared on Da Ali G Show and has since become one of the more famous characters played by Cohen. As you can imagine, Bruno’s antics are way over the top and should prove to be quite humorous on the big screen.
