I watched Burning Car for the first time today and was impressed by how such a simple video can capture my attention for such an extended period of time. The 10-minute film is a film by Superflex produced in 2008 by Propeller Group.
In the 10-minute video, the old Mercedes-Benz can be seen engulfed in flames with its paint bubbling and falling off. The video is beautiful and I could easily see this on some big screen somewhere playing in an infinite loop. Superflex actually had the entire video in HD on a torrent, but I just tried and it looks like the torrent is pretty much dead. It’s a shame because I would love to download this film in HD. Anybody have a direct link?
In this video from Japan, a diver/trainer blows some air into the mouth of one beluga whale and watches as the same whale blows ring bubbles out of its mouth! Keep watching the video if you also want to see the whales dribbling a ball with their mouth underwater and doing somersaults. [via]
Why are dolphins considered one of the smartest animals in the sea? Well, this video may explain that answer to some degree.
Here, we can see dolphins playing in the water with bubble rings that they have somehow learned to do on their own!
According to Project Delphis, the dolphins create these bubble rings in the water “by injecting air into water vortices, about the thickness of a straw and 1 to 2 feet in diameter. The rings don’t rise to the surface! The babies play with these underwater toys by moving them around with their rostrum, or biting them. They even bounce the rings off the wall, and elongate them with a flick of their dorsal fins into 15 foot corkscrews.”
That’s just amazing. You have to watch the video above to see it in action!
