I honestly don’t even remember signing up for Bebo (it doesn’t sound like something that really interests me at all), but for some reason I definitely had an account there and lately Bebo started emailing me with new “friend requests” on the service. Up until about 2 weeks ago, I had never received a Bebo email and then suddenly the floodgates opened and it seemed like I was getting one almost every day.
So I went to check out the friend requests and sure enough, they were all spam. Not a single one was legit. And rather than keeping my account on Bebo to collect more friend requests, I decided to just cancel the account altogether. When I did that, I got an error because I didn’t include a reason for the cancellation which I thought was an optional field. I thought it was really stupid that they wouldn’t let me cancel without giving a reason, so I gave them a reason they could work with because I really couldn’t be bothered.
What I didn’t know was that the fall musical — which I’ve been a part of in some form or another for 4 years straight — can cost anywhere between $45,000 and $70,000 just to produce.
School officials are considering replacing the fall musical with “Rising Stars” (the LaGuardia HS annual talent show) instead and say that if parents and students can raise enough money, they will try and put on a Spring musical. This is a major blow to LaGuardia school spirit and I imagine that the school will likely lose some sort of reputation as a result of it.
The Jawbone retails at $119.99. Sure, it’s still pretty expensive at $69.99 for a Bluetooth headset, but when you see what this thing can do, then you’ll know why it’s so great. It essentially cancels out all noise around you when it’s being used.
