These Hershey’s Kiss-shaped CD/DVD/optical disc holders are pretty nice looking. They hold your disc above the surface of a table so you can easily pick them up without sliding them across the surface. Sure, they aren’t exactly necessarily, but for $15 USD, they’d make a fun little gift I think. [via]
When you pull a tab on the side to open the CD, an ink cartridge leaks and fills the front cover with purple ink. A great way to deliver a unique experience while still selling the same product to individuals.
One of my favorite comedians, Aziz Ansari, has released a CD/DVD of his stand-up act called Intimate Moments For A Sensual Evening. It’s incredibly obnoxious and funny and totally offensive. So if you’re weak-sauce, don’t even bother. Otherwise, pick up a copy at Amazon.com or try it out here.
Using the now infamous Downfall movie scene featuring an enraged Hitler, some clever person decided to change the situation by seeing what a cheap font CD would do to the person responsible for adding subtitles to Hitler and his men.
This spectacular VIP package goes on sale tomorrow at the Mute Math online store. It’s hard to tell from the image, but it looks like you get an Armistice T-shirt, a vinyl record of the album, a CD (with a digital version…?), a concert ticket, a ticket to an exclusive Mute Math mobile listening party, and a “First In Line” pass.
I discovered the track “Victoria” by The Kooks while listening to Pandora radio and the album title from which this song originates made me curious.
With a title like War Child Presents Heroes: An Album To Benefit Children Affected By War, I was sort of wondering why I hadn’t heard more about this compilation. On top of the good cause behind the musical effort, there were big musical names on this disc like Beck, The Kooks, Hot Chip, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand, and TV On The Radio which I thought would surely have put this album in the mainstream spotlight.
And there it was, unbeknown to me for more than a month after it’s official release. But either way, I’m glad I’m getting a chance to hear it on its Myspace page and so far it sounds like a solid piece of work.
The idea behind the album is that 16 musical legends would pick 16 of today’s biggest musical acts to perform their classic hits. The result is a bit weird, a bit awesome, and all for a good cause. So if you want to give it a try, I’m sure it’ll be $9 well-spent whether you like the album or not. Get it at Amazon.com.
