Disney Heroes as male models

October 6, 2009 @ 7:15 pm

Simon just sent me this funny collection of Disney heroes as male models by David Kawena. It looks as if David covered just about every major male hero from Disney movies (yes, even real-life Disney movie male “heroes” like Troy Bolton from High School Musical).

Check out the entire collection at DeviantArt.

The trouble with speaking in 140 characters or less

If Twitter’s 140 character limit were imposed in real life, I’d imagine we’d all eventually encounter a situation much like the ones shown in the video above.

If you get some time, you should definitely check out One In 8 Million, an interactive New York Times web showcase of some of New York City’s unique personalities.

The profile on Alife sneaker collector Jesse Villanueva is interesting as is the profile on ex-bank robber Mark Mocha.

Fallen Princesses by Dina Goldstein

Dina Goldstein has an on-going project in the works called Fallen Princesses that places famous Disney fairy tale women in the roles of some very real-life situations that women face today. The resulting photographs are a great commentary on the fabricated lives that Disney instills in many young kids and how those “happily ever after” scenarios almost never occur.

You can see more photos from the series at Dina Goldstein’s website.

Putting some color into a black and white Paris

Reulf from Charlesque on Vimeo.

Reulf is a student video project from the University of Paris VIII directed by Quentin Carnicelli, Charles Klipfel & Jean-François Jégo. In the short, several CGI characters walk around Paris and literally paint some color onto the bland black-and-white city. Cute. :)

New dog characters introduced on full Up website

The full Up website has gone live and features lots of new information on the upcoming film including 3 whole new characters that have never before been seen. The three new characters are dogs whose names are Alpha, Beta and Gamma. Judging by their appearance, I assume that Alpha is a “bad dog” and Beta and Gamma are his somewhat silly and stupid sidekicks.
