I forget why I was looking for a site like this in the first place, but somehow I came across The Atlantic School Bus Yard, a website solely dedicated to yellow “cheese” buses of all kinds. The site has hi-res photos of school buses from every major school bus company in the United States. The wonderful thing about this website is that it’s as crude and as simple as the school buses themselves, categorizing each school bus by manufacturer, model, and year.
At the moment, the website has 776 different kinds of school bus photos and information on where they are used.
It’s been a very long time since I rode a yellow school bus, but looking at some of the newer models of school buses, I kind of wish I could ride one now. The new ones look so fancy compared to what I rode when I was a kid.
The New York Times Magazine was able to get the pain-in-the-butt chef, Kenny Shopsin (of Shopsin’s General Store restaurant), to actually talk about his restaurant on camera. Kenny then explained the idea behind his famous macaroni and cheese pancakes and how the recipe first came about (blame somebody’s indecision).
Kennedy Foods has this odd product called P.B. Slices that’s basically peanut butter in applicable Kraft singles-like cheese slices. The idea of peanut butter in slices wrapped in plastic just grosses me out. I would never put these on my sandwich. Plus, if I were making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the jelly would just slide all over this surface. [via]
